TAKE POTLUCK! - About the Author

Jan DeGrass, a former instructor of Creative Meatless Cooking classes, combines her two loves, food and writing, in Take Potluck!

She is a freelance writer and editor with 20 years experience in writing over 300 articles for newspapers, magazines and trade publications, including a corporate history book Safe Haven: 50 Years of Service at the Gulf & Fraser Fishermen’s Credit Union.

In addition to the local Coast Reporter, her newspaper credits include The Globe and Mail, Vancouver Sun and Province and such magazines as Canadian Living, Chatelaine, Wine Tidings, Room of One’s Own, Herizons, Sunshine Coast Visitors’ Guide.

She leads a writing critique group in Gibsons, teaches a class for beginners and assists authors with editing manuscripts. She has also judged numerous writing competitions. Jan is a prize winner in two major writing competitions for travel-related articles and has received a national award for a business article that contributed to Canadian co-operative literature.
